Prosciutto Wrapped Dates Stuffed with Goat Cheese

With the holidays well on their way, if you’re anything like me, I’m already planning out my menus! Thanksgiving is by far one of my favorites because we prep all week and eat alllllll day long. I like to start the day with “lighter” bites before delving into the Main Event (and then, of course, LEFTOVERS! I mean, isn’t that the best part of the day?!)

SO, that’s where these little bites come in. They are savory, sweet, salty and creamy. Especially on a day that tends to go heavy on the carbs- they almost feel healthy. Plus, to toot their horn even more, they take next to no time to prep and prepare! You can stuff/wrap them ahead and pop in the oven for 10-12 minutes when ready to serve- SUPER easy!!

Ingredients:

**this recipe can be altered to however many guests you’re feeding. I tend to make 3-4 Dates per person. About 1/2-1 teaspoon of Goat Cheese Per Date and One slice of Prosciutto can wrap about 2-3 Dates.

Pitted Dried Dates

Goat Cheese Log

Prosciutto

Olive Oil

Salt & Pepper

Hot Honey (Check out my recipe for this on the blog!)

  1. Preheat oven to 400°

  2. Carefully cut open each Date lengthwise and fill with about 1/2 teaspoon or so of Goat Cheese.

  3. Cut Prosciutto into strips wide enough to cover the Date (about 1-1/2”) and long enough to wrap about 1-2 times around the Date.

  4. Wrap each Date in Prosciutto strips, and place on a parchment lined sheet pan. Lightly brush or drizzle with Olive Oil, Salt and Pepper.

  5. Cook for about 10-12 minutes or until Prosciutto looks to be crisping bit.

  6. Remove from the oven and transfer to serving plate. Drizzle with Hot Honey immediately and enjoy!

I hope you like these little morsels and make them in addition to all of your holiday bites and small plates! Let me know your feedback in the comments below and be sure to hashtag #saltsandseasons on social media!!
