Just call me the Cookie Lady!

Hi all!

WOW, It's been awhile and I apologize! As I'm sure many of you know, I have been baking and selling "Decorate It Yourself" Cookie Kits over the past 6 months or so and it has unintentionally snowballed into a small business of sorts. I can't believe how many people have supported this little venture and bought kits to add to their own holiday traditions. It has most definitely kept me busy, (not to mention being in the kitchen baking is just fun!) But it's been super satisfying creating a fun, family experience for families to enjoy. I love when people send me pictures of them decorating and the kids' big smiles covered in icing! I've decided to keep making kits year round, for holidays and special occasions. I started taking custom cookie orders for graduations and birthdays, etc. It has surprisingly pushed me outside my comfort zone by becoming quite the cookie baker over here because I have always gravitated toward savory food, but I am thoroughly enjoying it.

"Sea Creature" and "Unicorn" DIY Cookie Kits

Lets see if I can shortly sum up the past few months since I've neglected blogging... I happily baked my bum off for Valentine's Day, St. Patricks Day and Easter. My older son, Jamason, went back to in person learning - which has been amazingly positive for both his spirit and us at home ;) Wilder, my youngest, most spirited child, has learned to out smart the majority of child proofing we have tried to do and he has started talking. His favorite words so far are "Niiiiiiice" and "Hi, Hiiiiiiya Heyyy" which he says to everyone he sees with the biggest smile. I never stopped cooking and creating in the kitchen. I have my trusty notebook that I am constantly jotting down all of my recipes, ideas and dishes I hope to make along with all of my crazy lists. (Yes, I am unapologetically a crazy list person). We took our first Post-Covid Family Vacation, camping in Breckenridge in our RV, which allowed me to make all sorts of delicious things like New England Clam Chowder, Pasta Salad with Fresh Vegetables and Vinaigrette, and of course, my trusty Apple Bars: a Family Favorite (recipe already in the blog) plus so much more. Note to self: don't pack as much food on the next trip! Not only have the past 5 months have flown by but in fact this whole past year has been sort of a blur. I'm looking forward to the next coming months, getting our garden ready, many camping trips with the family and getting back to putting new recipes up for you all to try!

Although I am in the minority of Summer being one of my least favorite times of the year (I'm a cold weather girl all the way, not to mention the holidays!) I LOVE LOVE LOVE the bounty of Summer Produce. The season change is reinvigorating and I'm inspired by the endless ways to use all of the fresh, simple ingredients. I truly enjoy sharing pictures and food ideas with you all & hopefully you'll find a new seasonal dish or two from my posts! Please comment below with your favorite go-to Summer meals that you look forward to cooking all year!

Be well and Thank you for following!
