Dark Chocolate Salted Caramel Pretzel Cookies

Chewy, Chocolatey, Salty and Sweet... these are some seriously delicious cookies! I love mixing and matching flavors and adding extra crunch to my cookies and this recipe hits all of that. It comes together super easily with most ingredients that you probably already have in the pantry. Trust me when I say, these cookies will not last long after they come out of the oven! Enjoy!

Ingredients:

1 Cups of Butter (2 Sticks) Softened

2 Eggs

2 Cups All Purpose Flour

1 Cup Brown Sugar

1/2 Cup Granulated Sugar

1/4 Cup Dark Cocoa Powder

1 tsp. Baking Soda

2 tsp. Vanilla Extract

1/2 tsp. Salt

1 1/2 Cups Dark Chocolate Chunks or Chips

Toppings:

Pretzel Twists (about 1 Cup) Broken into pieces

1/2 Cup Dark Chocolate Chunks or Chips

Soft Caramel Pieces (I used Werthers Soft Caramels that I sliced into small 1/4"pieces)

Flaked Salt

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees

  2. In Standing Mixer, cream together the butter and sugars with the paddle attachment.

  3. Once well combined and light in color, on low, add one egg at a time until incorporated then add vanilla extract.

  4. In a separate bowl, sift together the Flour, Baking Soda, Salt and Dark Cocoa Powder

  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the mixer with the wet ingredients until just combined.

  6. Take the mixing bowl off the mixer and scrape the paddle clean. Using a rubber spatula, fold in the 1 1/2 Cups of Chocolate Chunks.

  7. Scoop 1" balls of dough onto Parchment lined sheet pan about 2" apart.

  8. Top each cookie dough ball with 3-4 pieces of caramel

  9. Bake for about 10-12 minutes or until the cookie edges are crisping and the caramel has melted.

  10. Remove from oven and immediately top with more chocolate chunks and pretzel pieces. Sprinkle with Flaked Sea Salt and then move the cookies to a cooling rack.

  11. Enjoy!!

Let me know what you think of this addictingly sweet and salty combo! Post comments below and share on social media using #saltsandseasons
